Our clinic offers various forms of cupping to our patients; hot cupping, wet cupping and dry cupping.
During these treatments our therapist will use various types of cups which are made from different materials.
These include bamboo, as well as the more regular glass cups. Bamboo cups are a more traditional part of Chinese herbal medicine.
The number of cups placed on the area can vary, from patient to patient but also depends on where the therapy is being carried out.
Although cupping is most frequently applied to the back, you may also have it on your shoulders, neck and abdomen.
It can help with an array of problems, from bowel issues and digestive problems, to sciatica or varicose veins!
Cupping can leave a mark, in the shape of a bruise. This will not last long and disappear after a few days.
IS IT SAFE?
Cupping is safe, although it should not be undertaken on broken or sore skin.
Our clinic can offer a wide variety of acupuncture for various situations and problems. These include;
Acupuncture for fertility, acupuncture for mental health, acupuncture for arthritis, acupuncture for mobility, acupuncture for migraine and acupuncture for back pain.
Where the acupuncture is performed, depends on the area that needs treatment.
Most parts of the body can be considered for acupuncture. Acupuncture can even be delivered to the face, as a beauty treatment!
Don’t worry, the needles used for this treatment are very fine indeed.
Acupuncture can deliver some surprising benefits and can be considered as an alternative to pain relief.
If you suffer from chronic pain, anywhere in your body, chat with our acupuncturist Mindy about which tailored treatment you would most benefit from!
Acupuncture may not be suitable for everyone. Please consult our therapist, as well as your own medical doctor, before undergoing acupuncture.
All our therapists can offer massage as part of their treatments.
Our clinic offers the following massage, in addition to the massage which accompanies one of our other therapies.
We currently practise;
Swedish Massage – this is the gentle, relaxing spa treatment favoured by many.
Deep Tissue Massage – Deep tissue massage can help with the recovery from accident and injury. This intense form of massage can aid with rehabilitation of muscles after trauma of any kind.
Chinese Massage (An Mo) – This is traditional Chinese massage and consists of rubbing and pressing.
We offer a range of traditional Chinese massage techniques and sessions including Qi An Mo (energy massage) and Zhi Ya (pressing at acupressure points).
